Q:

How difficult is it to put the Connect-A-Dock™ together?

Q:

Can I reconfigure or move the Connect-A-Dock™?

A:

Yes, the Connect-A-Dock™ can be reconfigured, added to, and moved to another location.  The unique connection system is very flexible, and you can reconfigure the same components into many different shapes. (i.e. T, F, L, swim platform, etc.)  Different configurations may require additional float sections and/or connectors.  The can be added at any time.

Q:

Can you attach the Connect-A-Dock™ and/or Float Connectors to existing docks?

A:

Yes, the Connect-A-Dock™ can be attached to existing docks.  Depending on your current dock there are multiple methods of attaching.  Please call or e-mail for suggestions.

Q:

Does the Connect-A-Dock™ need to be taken in and out of the water with seasonal changes?

A:

Freezing temperatures will not harm the Connect-A-Dock™; however, with shifting ice we do recommend the removal for the winter months.

Q:

Is the Connect-A-Dock™ stable?

A:

Yes, when deciding on the width of your dock system, keep wave considerations in mind.  We suggest a broad configuration and proper anchoring will increase stability.

Q:

Does the dock come in any other color?

A:

The Connect-A-Dock™ comes in the color of Perl.  This color reflects sunlight sunlight and maintains a safe temperature when coming in contact with bare skin.  This polyethylene plastic dock has a UV protection and the color is permanent.

Q:

Can the Connect-A-Dock™ be painted?

A:

We do not recommend painting the Connect-A-Dock™.  One advantage of this product is that it never needs painting.

Q:

How much maintenance is required to keep the Connect-A-Dock™ clean?

A:

It can be cleaned with a mild detergent and water or a biodegradable, non-abrasive cleaner.  Get these products at your local automotive, Home & Garden, or discount store.

Q:

Can the Connect-A-Dock™ be put in salt water?

A:

Yes, the Connect-A-Dock™ is resistant to oil, gas, and salt water.  In saltwater application we recommend using stainless steel components or non-corrosive materials when anchoring the dock.

Q:

Does water stand on the dock?  Is it slippery?

A:

The top surface is slightly domed to prevent water from standing on it.  It has a molded in slip resistant wood grain texture to prevent slipping.

Q:

If a float section gets a hole will it sink?

A:

It may take on some water; however, it will not sink due to the unique design.  If a section would get punctured you should repair or replace the float section.

Q:

Will animals chew on the Connect-A-Dock™?

A:

The Connect-A-Dock™ is made from heavy duty rugged polyethylene plastic.

Q:

How long is the guarantee on the product?

A:

The Connect-A-Dock™ is warranted to be free of defects in material and workmanship and to perform properly under normal usage for a period of 8 years from date of purchase.

A: Connect-A-Dock Inc. warrants all Connect-A-Dock™ products to be free of defects in material and workmanship and to perform properly under normal usage for a period of 8 years from date of purchase.  Connect-A-Dock Inc.
will replace any Connect-A-Dock™ product found to be defective, free of charge to the original purchaser. In some cases Connect-A-Dock Inc. may require return of defective products.

How many people does it take to put a Connect-A-Dock™ together?

A:

The lightweight, 50 pound float sections can easily be installed by one person. Of course, additional help makes lining your dock up with shore and anchoring easier.

How long does it take to install a Connect-A-Dock™?

A:

This will vary depending upon the size of the dock you are installing. It takes approximately 5 minutes per float section plus the anchoring method you choose.

Q:

How long and how wide can you build the Connect-A-Dock™ system?

A:

The Connect-A-Dock™can be assembled as long and as wide as you wish. The 30" x 45" modular sections allow you to configure to most any size or design.

What is the minimum width for installing on the Connect-A-Dock™?

A:

We recommend a minimum 45" for installing.

 The 1060 Float Section has dimensions of 45" wide by 60" long

 What is the advantage of using the new 1060 Float Section?

A:

 Less cost stemming from the reduction in the number of float sections and float section connectors required. Also, with less float sections, assembly time is reduced.

How many people does it take to put a Connect-A-Dock™ 2000 Series together?

A:

Each float section weighs 190 pounds and can be easily installed with a minimum of two people.

Q:

How long and how wide can you build the Connect-A-Dock™ 2000 Series?

A:

The Connect-A-Dock™ can be assembled as long and as wide as you wish.  The 48" x 96" modular sections allow you to configure to most any size or design imaginable.

Q:

How much weight can each float section support?

A:

Each Connect-A-Dock 2000 Series float section can support up to 2500 lbs.

Q:

How high out of the water does the Connect-A-Dock™ Series ride?

A:

The walking surface is typically 17" above the water.  This will vary depending upon the amount of weight placed on your dock.

Q:

Are guard rails available for the Connect-A-Dock™ 2000 Series?

A:

We are planning to make them available soon.

Q:

How is the Connect-A-Dock™ 2000 Series shipped?

A:

The Connect-A-Dock™ is shipped via motor freight.
